Pony Barn Rebuild

Fall, 2008

These before, during, and after pictures show what we found when we ripped into the back wall of the pony barn and what we did to rebuild the back wall and reshingle the roof.  Thanks to some poor construction work, years of neglect, and too much moisture, the carpenter ants moved in and feasted for quite some time before we forcibly evicted the little buggers.  I won’t describe some of the extremes I went to while getting rid of them, but suffice it to say that my methods were just a little bit of an “overkill”!  It was way too much fun!

All and all, we had a great time working on the barn and we had great help and guidance from our friend Jimmy McCarrick – we could not have done it nor enjoyed it as much if it hadn’t been for him.
