MINIs on Top 2011

Last weekend was a MINI owner's dream event – over 250 MINIs gathered at the Attitash and Loon Mountain ski areas in New Hampshire for a weekend of food, fun events, meeting other MINI enthusiasts, and driving the wonderful twisty, curvy back roads of the Kancamagus and Franconia Notch regions.  But the real jewel was driving over to Mount Washington (three groups took three different routes), doing a big BBQ at the base of the mountain, and then taking a run up the Mount Washington Auto Road just before sunset.  And it wasn't just a typical drive up the Auto Road – the organizers were able to arrange to get all of the tourists off the mountain so we could have the Auto Road and the parking lot at the top just for us.  The sight of dozens of MINIs driving up to the top of the mountain and literally filling the entire parking lot was an amazing sight!  And we were incredibly blessed to have witnessed a beautiful sunset – something that only happens about thirty percent of the time up there.

We had an absolute blast – and we will be going back every year.  Here is a video shot from one of the MINIs on the run up the Auto Road and here are some pictures that we shot during the weekend.
