Wow, I showed up on this blog page six months after my last post and I had to blow all the dust off. Poor neglected blog. I could blame it all on Facebook, but it’s more that there just hasn’t been any time or energy to try and keep up with this thing…

Anyway, we just had a new metal roof installed on the house. We were kind of blown away by the estimate – it was three times the cost of a standard asphault shingle roof – but the bad memories of water dripping through the ceilings and chipping ice dams off the roof seemed to justify the cost. So it’s done and it’s beautiful. We can’t wait for the first time the snow slides off en masse! Bring it on, winter!
